The Hollywood Film & Acting Academy proudly presents its most indepth film class: the 16 Week Feature Film Program.

Become part of a truly rotating crew as you and your classmates make a feature length film from concept to completion!  During the class the HWFAA will bring in professional filmmakers to work hands-on with you on subjects such as: distribution, cinematography, lighting, live sound capturing, even directing and producing!

This course is structured exactly as if you were making any film, we just added a little classroom time between each section

The project is broken up into the same three segments that Hollywood filmmakers use: pre-production, production, and post-production. 

We teach you by putting you in exactly the situation you would be in if you were out on set somewhere.

At the end of this course you will 

This program is designed for students that are serious about filmmaking. The students in the program will learn how to make movies from concept to completion, it's an intense, full time, hands-on program, where you become a filmmaker. In the 16-Week Program students will learn the basics in Writing, Producing, Directing, Production Design, Cinematography, Sound Design and Editing from script to screen.

Every Student will get to use the Camera and Direct at our film school!

The 16-Week Program is divided into three phases.

1. Weeks 1-8 are Instruction/Pre-production.
2. Weeks 9-12 are Instruction/Production/Post-Production.
3. Weeks 13-16 are Instruction/Post-Production.

The Hollywood film and Acting Academy isn't like other film schools in that we ensure all of our classes have no more than 15 Students per instructor.

Our Film School is hands-on, it isn't just a class, its an exercise in what you have learned. Our instructors actually spend time working with students on various projects like casting, working with actors, location scouting, shooting, and editing. You leave with a feature film that has at least two credits to your name.

This is a Feature Film School that teaches you everything that you need to know to complete your own Independent Film. Instead of teaching you the information spread out over several years we teach you in this intensive manner that is standard for filmmaking.

After the completion of this program, you are an alumni of the Hollywood Film and Acting Academy and are allowed to check out equipment to shoot your own film.

Description of Classes:

Script Development

This class is designed to teach students story structure, plot analysis, and character development, the three essentials of screenwriting.

Producing

This course provides students with an understanding of the producers role throughout all phases of production, covering both technical and creative responsibilities of the producing staff.

Directing

Students will be introduced to the functions of the director and are instructed on how to work with actors.

Production Design

This course is an introduction to Production Design and the affects it has on the overall mood and feel of the film.

Cinematography

This course introduces the rules and importance of composition, lighting, color scheme, gripping and gaffing.

Principles of Editing

This course will give students an understanding of editing as it pertains to storytelling and conveying emotion through cuts and shot selection.

Editing with Final Cut Pro

Introduction to Editing; designed to provide students with basic skills for Standard and High Definition 24/30fps projects using the latest version of Final Cut Pro.

Sound Design

This course will cover the the importance of music in character development and plot advancement to create an overall tone for the film as well as the mechanics of sound gathering and the art of "folley".
